LOS RETROS NEW HUMANITY

Californian throw-back Los Retros, aka Mauri Tapia, began making music in his early teens after borrowing his brother's guitar, as well as gaining inspiration from his parent's record collection. His loyal fanbase stems from local shows he's done up and down the SoCal coast, and also his online fanbase. Tracing his musical inspirations to both American and Latin American left-field pop and soft rock groups from the 70s/80s, Los Retros is actually an homage to Chilean pop band Los Ángeles Negros. His new single 'New Humanity' is reminiscent of old soul tracks like Kool and the Gang's 'Summer Madness' or Roy Ayres' 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine'; it's got that same sexy, laid back 70's feel - with a good helping of retro synths and string sounds. If you can imagine a minimal room filled with organic marijuana smoke, a few green plants, a Spanish guitar and a hammock, you have a pretty good picture of 'New Humanity'. In his own words, Mauri explains “New Humanity was written as a message to the generations in the end times. Encouraging all to not stumble in times of deceit by turning to truth and the love of Christ. To endure in knowledge and seek the wisdom of God.”. -Ellie Rose-Davies
